        Jaren Goh,Blakk 新加坡聯(lián)合創(chuàng)始人及首席設(shè)計(jì) ,

        自創(chuàng)辦以來(lái),已為眾多國(guó)際客戶創(chuàng)造了多個(gè)具有影響力的設(shè)計(jì)作品,

        曾因Rollertoaster 和Orangin 產(chǎn)品設(shè)計(jì)兩度獲得德國(guó)紅點(diǎn)獎(jiǎng)。

        Blakk 尤為擅長(zhǎng)并熱衷于創(chuàng)造能成為空間中焦點(diǎn)、

        在商業(yè)上又可行性及顛覆性的產(chǎn)品和品牌,

        執(zhí)著于將無(wú)定性的、不妥協(xié)的設(shè)計(jì)

        FAENZA法恩莎:作為FAENZA法恩莎 高端套系產(chǎn)

        品CIRKLE的主筆設(shè)計(jì)師,您的設(shè)計(jì)靈感來(lái)源于什么?

        JAREN GOH:

        To be honest, Its pretty hard

        for me to pinpoint exactly what inspires a design

        except the fact that it’s a culmination of a

        designer’s, everyday experiences, things we see

        everyday, things we do everyday, people we

        interact with everyday, past and present. It’s a

        sum of all these things.

        Unfortunately, there was no sudden epiphany for

        me. It’s the sum of all my experiences and yes,

        it comes with a lot of practice.

        說真的,我很難準(zhǔn)確地指出

        具體是哪個(gè)瞬間或者哪個(gè)事物激發(fā)了我的設(shè)計(jì)靈感。

        我想這個(gè)靈感,主要來(lái)自于一個(gè)設(shè)計(jì)師的日常的經(jīng)驗(yàn)。

        藝術(shù)很大部分來(lái)源于生活,譬如我們每天看到的東西,

        每天需要做的事情,人與人之間的互動(dòng)。

        有點(diǎn)遺憾,我沒有那種突如其來(lái)的靈感。

        這些都是我累積的經(jīng)驗(yàn),不管是過去還是現(xiàn)在,

        我的靈感就是我所有大量練習(xí)的經(jīng)驗(yàn)總和。

        FAENZA法恩莎:CIRKLE 這套作品中你最滿意的細(xì)節(jié)是什么?

        JAREN GOH:

        I love the way we put the sink,

        faucet and vanity together into a seamless piece

        of art. Simple geometrical shapes coming

        together is beautiful. Again the shower system

        design is very satisfying for us. The final product

        will not fail to attract your attention once you

        encounter it. That’s basically our motto as a

        design company also:

        To design stuff that refuses to be ignored.

        So in summary, I like almost every aspect of

        this design. I think it’s a truly beautiful and

        intelligent piece. Right here, I would like to

        mention the fact that Faenza allows its designer

        to have almost 100% control in design and

        creation. I dare to say that this is very rare

        for a company or client. Giving full reins to

        the designer only opens up space for truly

        amazing products.

        我比較滿意的是,我們將洗臉盆、龍頭和盥洗臺(tái)

        這三個(gè)獨(dú)立且日常的衛(wèi)浴產(chǎn)品相互組合,

        設(shè)計(jì)成一個(gè)藝術(shù)品。

        我覺得看似簡(jiǎn)單的幾何設(shè)計(jì)組合到了一起是很完美的。

        另外,雨淋式頭頂淋浴系統(tǒng)的設(shè)計(jì)也讓我們很喜歡。

        如果你看到了最終的成品,你也一定會(huì)被它吸引。

        “設(shè)計(jì)拒絕被忽視的產(chǎn)品”這是我們的設(shè)計(jì)初衷,

        也是我們?cè)O(shè)計(jì)團(tuán)隊(duì)始終秉承的宗旨。

        總之,這個(gè)作品所設(shè)計(jì)的每個(gè)細(xì)節(jié)我?guī)缀醵己芟矚g。

        我認(rèn)為這個(gè)作品不僅美觀好看,

        也能讓人感受到其背后的設(shè)計(jì)巧思。

        另外我還想說的是,

        FAENZA法恩莎 品牌在委托我們創(chuàng)作設(shè)計(jì)時(shí),

        幾乎100% 放權(quán)讓我自由發(fā)揮。

        說真的,這對(duì)于一個(gè)甲方公司來(lái)說,

        是很少見的,因?yàn)橹挥凶屧O(shè)計(jì)師充分發(fā)揮,

        才能創(chuàng)造出獨(dú)特的設(shè)計(jì)作品。

        FAENZA法恩莎:你提到CIRKLE 在設(shè)計(jì)中

        使用了幾何形狀,你認(rèn)為這是一個(gè)

        困難的過程嗎?

        JAREN GOH:

        Geometry in objects is natural and

        the human eye is very attuned to spotting geometrical

        shapes and profiles. These are simple mathematical

        shapes with the properties and relations of points,

        lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional

        analogues. They are pleasing to the human eye.

        To create a new and original profile with standard

        geometrical shapes we are already familiar with

        takes time and effort. To make sure that the resulting

        profile is also pleasing to the eye can be a challenge.

        物品的形體在日常生活中是很自然、

        人眼可以輕易的辨識(shí)的幾何形狀和輪廓。

        這些簡(jiǎn)單數(shù)學(xué)形狀、點(diǎn)、線、面、實(shí)體

        及高錐等元素的組合使用,

        會(huì)達(dá)到讓人很賞心悅目的狀態(tài)。

        要將這些為人所熟知的幾何形狀,

        在人們腦中固有的印象里去創(chuàng)建一個(gè)新的形象,

        確實(shí)需要大量的時(shí)間與精力。

        還要確保這個(gè)幾何輪廓,能讓人眼前一亮,

        這可能還真是一個(gè)不容易的挑戰(zhàn)吧。

        FAENZA法恩莎:你的作品很“直白”,這

        是你的個(gè)人風(fēng)格嗎?

        JAREN GOH:

        I think so. We have always believed

        that design should not be cosmetic. Every detail and

        component should be there for the simple reason to

        make the product work. By the way, this is not

        “My style”.

        Actually, many great designers and their classic

        works follow this simple formula. It was the

        principle taught in every design school from day

        one. But its very difficult to practice it in real life,

        that’s why they are the great designers.

        Simplicity and practicability is not “my style”.

        Its Design 101.

        是吧。我一直認(rèn)為設(shè)計(jì)并不是為了裝飾,

        產(chǎn)品每個(gè)細(xì)節(jié)和組件的存在,

        只是為了讓它能正常運(yùn)作。

        但,這不是“我的風(fēng)格”。

        事實(shí)上,許多偉大設(shè)計(jì)師以及他們

        所創(chuàng)作的經(jīng)典作品都遵循了這個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的公式,

        每個(gè)設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)院從一開始

        FAENZA法恩莎:你可以簡(jiǎn)單介紹一下你的設(shè)計(jì)之路嗎?

        JAREN GOH:

        I graduated from Nanyang

        polytechnic, Singapore in 2006. I wasn’t the best

        student or anything but I had this amazing lecturer

        that probably changed several courses in my life.

        He wasn’t conventional and super straightforward.

        If a design is good, it’s good. If its bad you redo the

        project. Nothing inbetween and no need for

        explanation. That’s the design culture he created in

        our class.

        Apparently the school system hates him for it.

        But I learnt my basics and I learnt never to

        compromise in design.

        Then I started JG Design and later Blakk in

        Singapore which allowed me to work with many

        international clients.

        We also started Munkii which is a designer furniture

        brand for markets in US, Europe and China.

        我在新加坡成立了JG Design,

        后續(xù)又創(chuàng)辦了Blakk Singapore,

        也因此與許多國(guó)際客戶有了合作的機(jī)會(huì)。

        我們還成立了一個(gè)面向美國(guó)、歐洲和

        中國(guó)市場(chǎng)的設(shè)計(jì)師家具品牌Munkii。

        時(shí)至今日,我們?nèi)匀蛔裱?/p>

        這個(gè)永不妥協(xié)的原則去完成每一項(xiàng)設(shè)計(jì)工作。

        FAENZA法恩莎:據(jù)說你和Munkii公司有很多故事?

        JAREN GOH:

        We were young then and

        wanted to design and create furniture pieces from

        our own point of view. We have some successes

        with the Vintage bookcase, Turing Barstool and

        Alpha & Beta lamps when we first exhibited in

        Milan in 2009.

        From Munkii, our design started to evolve into what

        we are today:

        to design luxury and premium products with old

        school design principles.

        第一個(gè)作品,有什么經(jīng)驗(yàn)?zāi)隳芊窒?/p>

        給我們的嗎?

        JAREN GOH:

        I have highlighted about Faenza

        earlier, I am lucky we always get clients that allow

        designers to free-range. As a consumer myself,

        we know how our society today is packaged in too

        much commercialization and advertising gimmicks.

        Its very rare for companies to allow artists to be

        artists and designers to be designers.

        I cannot stress how important this is for creativity

        and innovation. I think you guys have created a

        company culture where design and originality is

        respected and revered.

        就像我前面提到的,

        我們很幸運(yùn)總是能遇到像FAENZA法恩莎 這類客戶,

        能給到設(shè)計(jì)師極大的發(fā)揮空間。

        作為一個(gè)消費(fèi)者,我們都知道現(xiàn)在

        市面上許多產(chǎn)品被太多夸張的

        品牌包裝與廣告噱頭包圍。

        所以說,允許藝術(shù)家和設(shè)計(jì)師原汁原味地發(fā)揮所長(zhǎng),

        在現(xiàn)在的企業(yè)中是非常罕見的,

        這種優(yōu)秀的觀念對(duì)于創(chuàng)造力和創(chuàng)新的發(fā)揮,

        也是十分重要的。我認(rèn)為,F(xiàn)AENZA法恩莎已經(jīng)創(chuàng)造了

        一種尊重設(shè)計(jì)與創(chuàng)意的企業(yè)文化。

        FAENZA法恩莎:從你的角度來(lái)說,你認(rèn)為

        CIRKLE這套產(chǎn)品所要表達(dá)的的設(shè)計(jì)

        精髓是什么?

        JAREN GOH:

        Cirkle is designed with one

        objective in mind: to awe.

        We wanted to create a product that is simple yet

        complicated. Distinctive yet making practical sense

        at the same time. Yes, its sort of an oxymoron but

        this is the crux of the entire design: straight lines

        converging with large curves or the arrangement

        of various geometrical shapes to create one an eye

        catching profile.

        Cirkle is meant to be that fixture that commands

        attention in any space. Our purpose is to create

        something that makes you look and think,

        something that creates conversion, something that

        is NOT designed to be ignored. I hope we have done

        that with Cirkle.

        CIRKLE 的設(shè)計(jì)目的只有一個(gè):讓人眼前一亮。

        我們想創(chuàng)作出一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)約又復(fù)雜,

        獨(dú)特又兼具實(shí)用性的產(chǎn)品。

        這是一種具有矛盾性的沖突設(shè)計(jì),

        但這也是整個(gè)設(shè)計(jì)的關(guān)鍵之處,

        直線與大曲線之間相互交錯(cuò)形成的幾何形體,

        創(chuàng)造了一個(gè)引人注目的輪廓造型。

        CIRKLE 旨在成為在任何空間

        都能引人矚目的裝置。我們的目的是希望

        創(chuàng)作一些能引發(fā)思考的東西,

        把普通日常的家居配置變成了不可忽視的藝術(shù)家居,

        我希望,CIRKLE 的設(shè)計(jì)達(dá)到了這個(gè)目的。

        FAENZA法恩莎:在設(shè)計(jì)過程中,你是否認(rèn)

        為CIRKLE這套產(chǎn)品很難實(shí)現(xiàn)出來(lái)?

        JAREN GOH:

        Of course. It is sinfully and i

        nsanely difficult to make. But like every product

        ever made, a design is only an idea until the

        physical product can be produced or created. For

        this, I would personally like to thank Faenza’s

        R & D department. They have worked closely with

        the design team to passionately and painstakingly

        create Cirkle. The process from blueprint to product

        took 2 years of unwavering effort and commitment.

        And their effort is evident in every attention to

        details in the product.

        都表現(xiàn)在了產(chǎn)品的細(xì)節(jié)上。

        FAENZA法恩莎:未來(lái)是否還會(huì)與FAENZA有

        其他合作呢?

        JAREN GOH:

        I believe there will be. Cirkle is the

        first entry in a proposed luxury designer series

        from Faenza. And with the company’s unique

        culture of letting designers do what they do best,

        I am sure Faenza will continue to put out exclusive

        and interesting products in the future.
